Has your computer been locked with an encryption, an now you cannot access any of the data on your network? Now some sort of message like the image featured is popping up and you must pay to gain access again?

This is why it is called ransomware. The perpetrators demand money, and then surprise! They may not release your data.

Predictions have been made that every 14 seconds there will be a ransomware attack on businesses by the end of 2019, and every 11 seconds by 2021. This does not include attacks on individuals and small businesses, which occur even more frequently than large businesses.

Here at Wireless Planet our motto is BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP! We always recommend regular back-ups, which can salvage your data and help you recover to get back in business quickly. It is important that your backups are secure from the rest of your network, i.e. an external hard drive. Usually the first thing hackers will do, is detect and delete your backups if they have access to them.

If you do not regularly back up, no worries we can still help! Bring  in your device ASAP, after you have received your ransom message, so we can get rid of any malware on your device, and recover your data.

NEVER GIVE MONEY TO THE PERPETRATORS.
