Some iPhone 7 or 7 Plus’s running iOS 11.3 may have an issue with the speaker phone.
According to documents obtained by Mac Rumors earlier this month, ” From an internal document distributed to Apple Authorized Service Providers, Apple said affected customers may experience a grayed-out speaker button during phone calls. The issue may also prevent affected customers from being heard during phone calls or FaceTime video chats. ” A software glitch has affected the hardware of some iPhone 7’s.
The easiest way for you to check if this is the problem you are experiencing with your iPhone 7- you can open up Voice Memo’s and make an audio recording. If it does not record this is a sign that your device is going bad.
Our awesome techs have figured out how to fix this issue. It’s not a simple case of swapping out the microphone/speaker part, but a logic board repair involving replacement of the Audio Codec Chip. We can have your phone as good as new in about 3 hours. Cost is $125. No need to make an appointment or deal with long lines at the Apple Store! Bring your phone ASAP as we’ve found that if you let this issue go, your iPhone could just die on you.
